But what if he’s not? Her words alone may hold the power of life or death.

With the clock ticking, Tori has little time to save a stranger—and maybe redeem herself—leading to a startling conclusion that changes everything…

Review:
This book had so much potential to force the reader to take a good, hard look at how they treat others and how their actions can have devastating consequences. I was excited about this one and I wanted to love it so badly, but it just didn’t work for me.

This book was very short, but it was also very fast paced, something that I would have liked a lot if the book itself had been compelling, which it was not. I found that I was forcing myself to read this book, in the hope that it would somehow start getting better and better as the book continued.

But I was utterly bored through the majority of it. There seemed to be a disproportionate amount of dialogue to the rest of the book. I wanted less dialogue. I mean, I know lots of dialogue would be necessary for this book, but I wanted more scene setting and descriptive language.

None of the characters really intrigued me either. Tori was a bitch who clearly didn’t understand that, yes, she was partially to blame for the death of someone she knew. Andy & Noah were both boring as hell. The character development was pretty much non-existent. I know it can be hard to develop the characters fully in such a short book, but the author didn’t even try to develop them at all. They were all very one-dimensional, which bummed me out big time.

I thought for the longest time that Andy was screwing with her and that he wasn’t actually serious about his plans to commit suicide. Which of course, enraged me even more. Committing suicide is not something to joke about. Just the idea of that makes me so mad all over again. It’s serious stuff not to be taken lightly. I wish more people would realize that. It’s not a joke, it’s not funny. I didn’t think I would have such a strong negative reaction to this book, but I did.

The revelation at the end also pissed me off. I could not believe that the author took the story this way. It felt like the entire book was a complete waste of time and it made me wonder why the heck I had forced myself to read this book if it was going to end this way.

This book was a colossal waste of my time and I am so upset because it really had the power to be something fantastic, but it was horribly executed. I’ll be giving this book 1.5 stars.

Synopsis from Goodreads:
Christina
I love Andrés so much, more than anyone I’ve ever loved before, yet there are days when I don’t know if I want to scream, swear, or fall to pieces. We’re trying to plan a future together, but our families won’t leave us alone. What’s worse is I can see Andrés is not happy.

They say love trumps all hurdles, but some days I wonder will “our” love trump “our” hurdles? Then I look into Andrés’s sensual smile and passionate gaze and I fall in love all over again.

Andrés
When I told Christina I would love her forever, I meant every word. The nightmares are back, and I don’t know how to stop them, but I have to be strong for her. This pressure from my family and my job feels like a noose around my neck, but I will do whatever it takes to give Christina the life she deserves. She’s everything to me, and I won’t lose her.

Review:
Very rarely can I say that a series actually gets markedly worse. I felt like screaming half of the time at these characters. Authors it really is possible to write about a man who is close to his family but who also realizes that its OKAY to do his own thing. In the first two books, Andres and Christina were hot and I was really rooting for them to overcome everything that had tried to tear them apart.

This book changed that majorly. Christina returned to her doormat status which really frustrated me and Andres self esteem plummeted. Both sides of the family were deciding on things without even checking on what the bride and groom wanted. Now that doesn’t sound too out of the ordinary but when Christina doesn’t put her foot down, suddenly she’s meeting with The Cobra’s best friend who is going to coordinate the wedding, Andres aunt is insistent on her daughter Marie being a bridesmaid even though Marie and Christina hate each other.Christina is saying over and over “I don’t want this” but she’s not saying it to people and certainly NOT authoritatively.

Then we have Andres who is miserable at his job but feels a sense of family duty to stay there since his Tio & Tia took him in when his mother died. Yet, privately Andres yearns to persue his passion and become a chef. He’s so focused on making Christina happy that he doesn’t realize that if he’s not happy Christina will never be happy.

And therin lies another issue I have with Christina. Her happiness is tied to a man. That should NEVER happen. A person needs to be happy on their own before they get coupled up. She also needs to find something that’s just hers and not tied up with Andres.

I was happy to see that Karri made an appearance as did her son. I was not expecting to see Karri at all in this book. Plus Grace and her girlfriend had substantial parts in it which made me happy. Seeing that Christina did have friends outside of Andres.

I was happy with the ending and I was happily surprised to see the epilogue. I wasn’t sure if we’d get one so it was a nice surprise to see it.It definitely did not feel rushed to me.

This book was easily the weakest of the three. Both main characters took major steps backwards which really bummed me out. That’s the main reason I have to give this book 3 stars.

Review:
Grief manifests itself in so many ways, and sometimes it’s hard to feel pity for someone who uses their grief as an excuse to treat people like crap. There is no reason to treat people like crap.

That was my biggest issue with Emma. She’s grieving the loss of her mother to the point where she treats her stepfather like crap. He’s clearly hurting as well but Emma doesn’t see it. All she sees is the decision to keep her mom on life support until it’s safe for her baby brother to be born. She doesn’t even consider the probability that her stepfather and her mother had already had that “what if” conversation.

I get it. I get feeling like no one else knows her mother like she does. I feel the same way about my own mother. But  what I don’t understand is why she is so angry at Dan. He didn’t kill her mother. Yet Emma blames him completely for it.

Emma was horribly selfish all the way through the book and it frustrated me to no end.I felt worse for Dan actually. He was trying to talk to her. He was hurting and he was scared for the baby.Yet Emma turned a deaf ear to him. He was the only family she had nearby and he still loved her and needed her in his life. Emma was so angry that she didn’t see it.

The thing with Caleb was weird too. I didn’t buy that they could be in love by the end of the book. That was a relationship formed out of convenience. Caleb and Emma understood each other, but a couple has to have more than just a shared experience of watching someone they love die. While a truamautic experience can and often does change people, this was just too much. She didn’t even know Caleb before her mother died and suddenly just because she dies, Emma notices him? Yeah, call me skeptical, but that’s not how it works.

The only portion I liked was the bit with Dan about 3/4’s of the way through it. Emma finally got all her feelings out and Dan was allowed to get his out too. However, I don’t think the instant forgiveness thing worked here.Given how angry Emma was throughout the book, it’s just not plausible that she’s suddenly not angry with Dan for his decision.

The premise was good and I was super excited for it. However the execution of it fell flat. The only character I actually liked was Dan, the rest of them were boring and obnoxious.Editing-wise the book was great. This book will be getting 2 stars. I didn’t enjoy this one all that much.

Review:
I just… I am not even sure why this book has gotten so many high ratings. I just don’t get it. I tried really hard to understand why this book was so highly rated. Drake did nothing for me and actually I lost a LOT of respect for him throughout the book. What kind of guy hooks up with a woman who’s spoken for? This of course leads into my extremely negative feelings about Chloe. I was really hoping to like her and I did until she got in over her head and played with both guys’ hearts.

It’s extremely disrespectful to essentially help someone cheat on their boyfriend. I am never going to think that was okay.Because it wasn’t. Drake struck me as pushy and abrasive and arrogant.Definitely not my type of guy. But the aggravating part is that Chloe lapped it up. That was unbelievably frustrating.Logan was a total sweetheart and actually he really reminded me of my ex.All my ex wanted for me, was for me to be happy. Yes, Logan got a teeny bit controlling at times and that was definitely not okay. I would have nipped it in the bud immediately.

Chloe seemed very emotionally immature, especially in the ways that she handled Drake and Logan. She never once thought about how they were feeling. Nope it was all about her, her, her. I actually liked the bits with her mom even if I couldn’t relate. It made Chloe a little more likable for me. I also liked her friendships with Amber, Rachel and Jade and I don’t think enough attention was paid to them.

Overall, I really didn’t like this book. Chloe was selfish and emotionally immature, Drake had no morals and Logan was having to play second best even if he didn’t realize it.I really was very disappointed by this book and that’s why I have to give it two stars.
